We care deeply about your safety and riding enjoyment, which is why we became the world’s first cargo bike company to be safety tested by the Danish Consumer Agency in 2004. We were also the first in the world to introduce 5-point seat belts. An intensive quality control check is standard on all our cargo bikes to ensure your cargo bike is assembled to perfection.
There are few places safer than in the comfy seat of the Triobike mono box. We pioneered a unique moulding technique to make this in one seamless piece that is extremely tough. The external skin, made from ABS vacuum-formed plastic with rounded edges, is durable and shock-resistant. And the shell is filled with PU foam, creating a strong, but light, ‘sandwich’ construction for maximum passenger protection. The box requires no maintenance at all and colour does not fade: it is made to work in any kind of weather, withstanding a very wide range of temperatures. The box is easy to clean and has a self-drain. With an inner width of 72 cm it’s the most spacious and comfortable box on the market. Safety and comfort have never matched so perfectly!
Our e–power electric motor systems let you flatten hills and make long trips with the pod fully loaded. The powerful Brose Drive S mid drive motor, with its torque of 90 Nm, does all the work for you in complete silence. The stylish display helps you keep track of the battery level, distance and speed and you can choose exactly how much help you want from the motor. All e-systems provided by Triobike comply with EN 15194 standard.
The Triobike mono is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, the best available technology directly inherited from the car industry. Even at high speeds and with the pod fully loaded, applying a small squeeze on the brake levers will get you to a full stop in a short distance. The Triobike mono is equipped with a parking lock too: you can easily activate the P-lock with one hand, allowing you to load or unload in a safe and relaxed manner.
On the Triobike mono the front wheels are slightly inclined to improve the handling and stability of the bike during the ride. Furthermore, our trikes are designed to lean to the inside when turning. This feature not only offers a smooth and comfortable riding experience: having the rider’s mass lean to the same side as the turn also increases stability and the riding comfort. When you order your Triobike mono, don’t forget to add the step in. The step in is a smart and practical way for your kids to get in or out of the front pod. The step in reduces the height to be climbed by 25 cm. A small step (in) for a cargo bike, a giant leap for a kid!
On the Triobike mono, your front and rear lights are integrated and part of the standard equipment. The integrated lights are connected to the motor’s battery, so there’s no hassle with battery change. With a slight touch on the display, you can turn the lights on and off. There is also the option of having the lights turn on and off automatically in relation to the light around you – then you can exclusively focus on your cycle adventures!
The Triobike mono can be equipped with Gates Carbon Drive and the Enviolo CA gearless continuously variable transmission. Thanks to the belt and the internal gear hub, this combination is almost maintenance free and gives you an even more silent and smooth riding experience. Relax and enjoy the birds singing!
We’ve ensured that the Triobike mono hood will keep water out, will not catch fire and will never fade, thanks to a special solution-dyed sunacryl acrylic fiber that is water resistant, fire tested and 100% UV stable. The hood has a window at the rear, so you can keep an eye on your kids as they enjoy the view (a double zipper also allows you to easily open the back window). Every hood is hand-sewn by expert craftsmen.
Your kids’ safety and comfort are top of our list. The Triobike mono seat is ergonomically designed to be comfortable and free from harmful chemicals, PVC or heavy metals. Our carefully-selected materials also ensure that ice cream, ketchup and chocolate are no match – it’s easy to wipe clean. The seat folds away to create space when needed. Plus, it looks great as it’s manufactured in the same furniture factory that make Arne Jacobsen’s iconic ‘Swan’ and ‘Egg’ chairs.
